Hey guys,

I have a question which no book could ever tell me.

What is your source of Inspiration? And of course why is this your source?

Your children, the nature, political situations on earth. Or just simply your imagination?

My latest artwork for example, is based on some Indian influences. It's because I like their attitude to see things how they should be and not how they are.
Looking for Insight - Maybe you want to have a look on it.

I'm looking forward to your answers because I'm very curious about them.

Thank you very much for sharing your answers and maybe also post the links to your favourite artwork. That would be great.

Many Thanks ahead.

Best wishes,
David
Looking for Insight! by red-lima
Looking for Insight!
The bad situation on earth, the wars, the fear and of course all the innocent people who have died have led me to create this piece.

The design is based on some old Indian wisdoms and theories. An elephant forms the base which stands for strength and the wisdom of animals which are not influenced by money or hate.
And of course the Lotus flower which stands for insight and the the infinity of the universe. I think human beings should understand that they are not the middle of the universe.

And if they got the insight there's still hope!

The shading is fully done with dotwork which means approx.100.000 Dots and a lot of Pigment liners.

The material I've used:

Sketch: Pencil Farber Castell GRIP 2001 H3

Outlines: Pigmentliner Staedler 0.3 & 0.7

Details / Dotwork / Shading: Pigmentliner Farber Castell ECCO PIGMENT 0.1 / 0.03

Drawn on: A2 scaled 250g/cm² paper

Duration: approximately 16 hours

I really looking forward to your thougths and want to say thank you.

Best wishes,
David

A few more dots to do, finishing my most detailed artwork. Satisfaction here I come!!
Ornamental Skull by red-lima
Ornamental Skull
This Piece is the first artwork I've done which is not just a plain drawing. The base was a very bad crafted model of a skull which I've bought on an old market full of rubbish.

After removing the old coating, the dirt and the edges and cracks, I coated it with some black Color and started to finish it with Ornaments and dotwork.

The most difficult part was to make both half sides of the skull look identically.

The project took me about 8 hours in total.

Drawn on: Old sculpture of a human skull

Sketch: Pencil Farber Castell GRIP 2001 H3

Outlines & Details: EDDING Gloss Paint Marker 1-2mm White
EDDING Gloss Paint Marker 0.8mm White

Artistic Tools: None

Best regards,
David
